Scrap the Offside Rule in Football?
Sepp Blatter has recently been analysing hockey and how they got rid of their offside rule - amid rumours that football could follow suit.
Imagine, no offside, what would the effect be? Would teams load up the penalty area when in possession and play a long ball game? Would pace be sacrificed for strength? Would the effect be negligible but a lot less complicated for referees?
Hockey abolished its offside rule in 1998 and it has had a positive effect on the game.
I really believe that it will go one day - I think I even heard that great sage of football, Andy Gray, once saying that the rule should be scrapped.
Roll on a trial.

It will be interesting to see if this rule is ever abolished. It would certainly be a turning point in football history.
